What's my name?

Murielle
Meaning: Bright as the sea

I'm tired of people mis pronouncing my name. I don't think its difficult to pronounce, so why am I constantly being called everything other than Murielle [Meer-e-elle]. This goes back to when I first started school at the ripe age of four. My teachers and peers would call me "Muriel" Or "Mariel". Nowadays I'm being called Murelle, or Marelle. Its very annoying. I hate having to correct people time and time again. If I had a dime for every time somebody mispronounced my name, I would be a MILLIONAIRE right now!

Wait til you get your credentials right!

If you are disgusting, classless, crusty, ghetto, ugly and/or wack..You have NO right to comment on others who are disgusting, classless, crusty, ghetto, pretty and/ or wack. You especially DO NOT have the right to talk negatively about people who are are hot, stylish, "poppin", "bhad", and/or pretty!
It really baffles me how one person can possess so many hater characteristics..Like really though? I feel like the biggest haters are the ones who are not cute enough or inspirational enough to have haters.Do you get what I mean?
Some people need to look in the mirror more than once before leaving their homes. It bothers me to see people carrying themselves in a way that is inappropriate for public. Leaving your house looking like you just rolled out of bed, or like you don't have any family or friends to tell you how bad you look is not at all ok! I'm not even trying to be harsh because I honestly feel bad. I sometimes feel like going up to these people and asking them if they need somebody to care lol.
On another note, if you cannot afford the real thing..do not stoop as low as to get faux designer things!  There are chic and affordable things that are real, so why do people insist on going to canal street or wherever else they sell fake crap to buy fake things? You are only playing yourself by sporting fake designer bags...shoes..clothes etc. Stop trying to be something that you are not!
I must reiterate that this is the year of Obama. Therefore some people need to step their game up! 2011 is rapidly approaching so some people need to make it their New Year's resolution to stop being a hater, stop rocking fake things, and/or stop leaving your house looking a mess. Please and Thank you :)
:Just saying:

Why did she do that shit?

I watched Ms.Minaj's "see right thru me" video the other day, and I don't get why her hair looked as bad as it did. I am no fan of lace front weaves at all. I think I said that on here before. With all the money that Nicki is making.... "50k for a verse no album out!", she should have hired Ursula Stephens or Derek J to handle that hair! Besides that I thought the video was pretty mediocre. Nicki's leading man was cute though. Ehh Nicki needs to take her own advice and step her cookies up before they crumble!

Is it just me?

I find it rude when:

I'm in the company of someone, and that person's friend or acquaintance walks over (whom I do not know), and I'm not introduced. Its like I just stand there awkwardly, sometimes I just introduce myself to avoid an awkward situation but come on now, have some courtesy.

I have plans with somebody and that person cannot follow through with the plans, and he/she fails to let me know that he/she cannot make it.

People talk negatively about someone else to everybody but that someone.

I send somebody a text message, and I know that person read it, but he/she fails to respond.

People do not say thank you when I hold the door for them.

I'm talking to somebody, and another person walks over and rudely interrupts, by asking that person a question.

This list is under construction..there's more that I find rude but its not coming to me this moment.

Simply AMAZING

I'm very into the spoken word and feminisim so I had to post this. Finally someone speaks about Nicki Minaj for what shes worth. I have to give it up to Jasmine, because this is just too REAL.

It's a man's world

I recently did a post on Forbes most influential women of 2010, now its time for the most influential men. Forbes didn't create this list, rather Askmen.com, but you get the drift. Whats interesting is that only 49 men where chosen...hmmm? Was there not one more person worthy of the 50th spot?  Rounding out the top 5 were: Jon Stewart, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, and Kanye West. To be honest with you I had to google who the hell Steve Jobs is, because I didn't know prior to reading  the article .  Well he is the co creator of Apple computers for those of you who don't know either lol.   President Obama made the list, but unlike his wife he isn't the most influential. My favorite rapper aka Mr. Carter aka Jay Z made the list, taking the 13th spot! What I'm trying to figure out is how John Stewart is the most influential male. Kanye's spot is pretty accurate, because although he is a great rapper and I love his music and style and all that, he did interrupt Taylor at last year's MTV awards. So people shouldn' t be completely influenced by him. I wonder if Forbes will come up with their version of the most influential males, because this list was a bit trivial.

To view the complete list visit:

I'm coming home again

Its been a while since I've last posted and I apologize to those of you who read on a daily basis. I've been focused on school. However there are some things that I wanted to talk about.
First of all....the basketball season started yesterday! Although I didn't fully tune in because I had to focus on my research paper, which has been taking up most of my time these days. However, I caught a glimpse of the season opener game which was the Celtics vs. the Heat!

It was a close call  (88-80), but the Celtics took the win. I must say that I was surprised! I thought Lebron would carry the Heat to victory. I cant completely bash him though because he was definately putting in work for the few minutes that I watched. He earned the Heat 31 of the 80 points that they scored! We'll just watch and see how the rest of the season goes, I'm confident that the Heat can make it to the finals.

Plastic surgery

So Nene Leakes of the Real Housewives of Atlanta has obviously gone under the knife. Its apparent that her nose, boobs, and body look very different from last season. I don't think it looks bad though, in my opinion she looks good. As long as she doesn't go plastic surgery and botox happy she will be good. Remember less is more Nene, don't be like Lil Kim!

come again

Did I already express how much I do not appreciate fake people? Oh yea I did...well I'm reiterating it right now. Kk good!

20 October 2010

But can none of you do it like she do

I'm simply in awe that a nine year old is as smart, stylish, and mature as this girl right here. I still stand by my comment that Willow Smith is the next best thing since sliced bread. Her performance in this video is the perfect example to back my claim!  I must also reiterate how GORGEOUS she is. Oh and...young Willow was and might still be staying at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, which I pass every day on my way to school. She was seen in broad day light yesterday playing with her dog in the company of her cousin and what I'm going to assume was her body guard. My question is where was I when this was all taking place?

17 October 2010

Soon soon soon

Rapper Weezy F baby, yea I said the baby will be coming out of prison in less than a month. As long as he behaves he is set to be released from Rikers on November 4. I'm sure first thing he will do is smoke a nice fat blunt!

15 October 2010

Oh no not again!

Well yes again, but damn!

T.I will be going back to jail to serve 11 months for violating his probation. Its really a shame because he hasn't even been out for too long. He recently saved a man from killing himself too! While he was in court, T.I revealed that he has an addiction problem, but Judge didn't take any pity on him, because he's headed right back to the slammer. SMH! Maybe he'll learn his lesson after this.

Better late than never

So I didn't tune into the 2010 Hip Hop awards, but I had to YouTube the cypher performances. First things first, Daniel Simmons is growing up to be a hottie. More importantly, he did well with his cypher. Surprisingly,Jojo came correct as well. Common and Kanye along side new comers, Pusha T, Big Sean, and Cyhi came correct with their suit and ties on.
Some white guy named Yelawolf killed it, and Mr. Khalifa did also.

14 October 2010

SMH!

Its a bit of a shock that Cristina Aguilera and her husband of five years, Jordan Bratman will be getting a divorce. This divorce was initiated by Christina because of irreconcilable differences. So much for love and marriage. Well in my opinion Christina is too pretty for this Jordan character anyway lol.

Just a thought

Why do people insist on being fake?
Are they concerned with being liked by everybody?
How can someone talk so negatively about somebody else one moment, and then smile in that person's face the next moment? Some things are easier said than done, but I don't see why its difficult to stay true to how you feel.If you don't like somebody else stop pretending. It really bothers me to see relationships built on lies.
Sometimes the truth hurts, but its not worth it to lie. Whatever is done in the dark will eventually come to light!I'm curios to know whether or not talking shit about somebody helps some people sleep at night. Then again, if one person is talking negatively about another person it may be to relieve some stress, or take the spot light off of thy self for a moment.Ehh I guess such is life though. I just wanted to get that off my chest though.

"Oh she's turnt up"

Maya Arulpragasam

This Sri Lankan/English war refugee better known as M.I.A is amazing. Lol her picture was one of the first pictures I decided to add to this blog. I remember when I first started listening to her music about three years ago, when she only had a few fans. Although she isn't a mainstream artist, she is beginning to hold her own. The kind of music she makes is different; its not the average pop, r&b, alternative, hip hop, dance hall, or reggae that can be found on the radio, its a combination of all of the aforementioned genres. Maya first started off as an artist and film maker, with no intention to do music. But after making a demo, and it landing in the hands of a couple of producers and djs M.I.A found herself in the music industry. She has graced the covers of magazines, has been featured on remixes, and appeared in one of Marc Jacob's ad campaigns.
Now that she's already given birth, Maya is taking time to work on her music career. She recently released a new record,"XXO" and has Jay Z on the remix; and to tell you the truth, it's a very hot tune! She also performed  last Thursday at the Brooklyn Bowl. Lobster and shrimp for M.I.A, because shes doing her thang. I've watched and read a few of her interviews and she seems extremely down to earth, I can honestly see myself hanging with her; she's like one of those people who you want to have as your friend. lol I feel like if i reached out to her she would be down lol. Anyway I cant wait to hear and see what else she has up her sleeves.

Yea buddy rollin' like a big shot

Good morning Pewter, you're looking dapper!

It's Coat time!

Express For him
[On Sale $208.60]

I don't mean to scare you,but with the rapid approach of chilly weather, you cannot afford to be out in the cold without a warm coat. You can probably still rock out in your leather jacket or trench for another couple of weeks, but make it a point in your schedule to go coat shopping! I actually still need to get mine, but I haven't found the perfect one. See, to me a coat is kind of like a wedding ring. I'm going to be wearing it alot so I must be in LOVE with it lol; and a coat should be quality, so even if you have to splurge a little bit for quality I approve! .

Asos Tie waist Cape
£95.00

Ladies, I cannot stress versatility enough; so get a coat that can be REINVENTED with each outfit. Bright colored coats will not do you justice on a day to day basis. If you remember my "Tis the season..." post you will know that neutral colors are IN this season. Also VERY in this season are Parkas, Aviator jackets, and Capes.

Fellas, I haven't forgot about you! But the same rules apply, get something comfortable yet chic. Something that will have the ladies like..."who's that guy in the double breasted pea coat?" lol well that would most likely be a select few females..like me. But  its not attractive to be walking around in a make shift coat such as a hoodie. You get cold too, don't front! So instead of investing your money in video games or what have you,go to your favorite store and get a coat; preferably a pea coat!

I've spotted some trendy but budget friendly coats at:
*Zara
*H & M
*Express
*Lord & Taylor
*Macy's

Come on get happy

"I'm for truth no matter who tells it, and for justice no matter who it's for or against" -Malcolm X

We live in an evolving world with many unanswered questions, a variety of injustices, and a plethora of lies. "America is an unfinished project"; in many aspects, the society that we live in is truly corrupt. Let me not stray away from what this post is really about.

Homosexuals are human beings just as heterosexuals are. It baffles me to hear about  gays and lesbians being treated unfairly. I feel as though Gays and Lesbians are the most similar to African Americans, for the simple fact that we have been discriminated against, tormented, and treated like animals. You may disagree, but in my eyes its just that simple. Just as African Americans don't completely get the respect they deserve, homosexuals are often treated as if  they are inferior. It boggles my mind to hear people call homosexuals weird and nasty. Why are these individuals so weird and nasty? Is it because they don't like the opposite sex and they prefer the same sex? Whats the issue? The fact that homosexuals like the same sex doesn't make them any less human.I personally feel like if one doesn't adhere to the traditional standards of American, society is going to label him/her as incompetent or weird. But to hell with society, each and every person is special, God didn't make any mistakes! No two people are exactly the same, and perfection is unattainable. Crimes against homosexuals must cease to exist. Being prejudice is inevitable, almost every person in this world has prejudged somebody; but discriminating against another person is taking things to the extreme.

It's like every time I tune into the news, I hear another story about a hate crime against homosexuals. I've noticed that most of these crimes are against gays and not lesbians. Double standard perhaps? Recently in my speech class, I discussed homosexuality with a few of my peers. We concluded that if parents teach their children at an early age, that there is nothing wrong with being homosexual, there would be less hate crimes. There should be more support for the gay and lesbian community through public activities. I understand the argument of religion, but it is said that God accepts all of his children whether they sin or not, so why should homosexuals an exception to the rule?
Despite what researches and scientists have to say, I believe that homosexuals are just like every other person. "Call it what you want but I'm gonna call it how I feel."
Being unique is amazing.I'm totally supportive of unique, avant garde, and homosexuality!

"Women are always beautiful"

Especially when they are successful, intelligent, and affluent!

Forbes has chosen it's 100 most powerful women, and boy am I happy to see a diverse list. These women come from many different walks of life and a variety of racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. A couple of these women have been featured here on andallthatg0od_stuff, so I guess the Forbes deciding committee and I think alike. Michelle Obama who I aspire to be like someday, has landed the number one spot;the world is truly changing, and I'm glad that I'm witnessing this change.

Pro_nails

Really though? One of the most affluent female tennis players wants to be a nail technician, Serena Williams to be exact. This exemplifies going after what you truly desire. I respect the fact that despite her millions of dollars, and title as tennis champion, Serena wants to do something that she always took interest in. She was recently on the Opera show, giving Ms. Winfrey a pedicure! How brave she is lol; Opera's feet aren't the most attractive.
I would like to also point out how great Serena is looking these days. I recently noticed how "Bad" this girl is. She has a great body, she is a beautiful chocolate woman, she is successful, and she seems to be down to earth. Serena and Mr. Lonnie Rashid Lynn Jr, better known as Common are allegedly dating. He is a sexy piece of work, who unfortunately doesn't get the recognition he deserves. He is a talented rapper who needs to bless the Hip Hop industry with more records.

Its my prerogative!

I refuse to be stagnant do to the actions of another individual. I refuse to let anybody alter my homeostasis. Change is inevitable, time waits for no man/women. I love having morals and convictions, and standing by them. I have standards that will rarely be lowered. Life is for living not living up tight. Carpe Diem, proceed & progress; regression/ stagnation should be a sin! Eat, drink, and be merry! "Love the memories, not the people you shared the memories with". Spend time with people who appreciate you and will not disappear with each season. Life is too short to be ignorant and not learn from one's mistakes. Constant immaturity and buffoonery can be detrimental! Refusing to accept the facts of life can be detrimental as well.Thinking before acting is wise, but acting on impulse can be incredible. Stupidity and ignorance is among us; being eager to learn is admirable. Love for thy self is imperative. "If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything!" Self confidence is respectable, but an overabundance of confidence is cowardly. Silence can be soothing and at times noise is magnificent. Freeing your mind of imprisoned thoughts is fulfilling,
you should try it! :)

Kourtney and Kim will be taking New York, sans my girl Khloe. The  new E! show will premiere for the new year (January 2011), which means these Kardashian sisters are probably in the midst of taping! What brave souls  they are to come and battle the cold weather of the big apple! Just last year Khloe and Kourtney were the dynamic duo taking Miami.  But as we know Khloe is a married lady now, she just celebrated one year with Lamar Odom; She cant be frolicking from coast to coast with her single sisters lol.
*Word is that the new store will be in Soho (one of my favorite spots in NYC)!*
I wonder what the theme song for this show will be lol, hmmm perhaps Alicia and Jay's Empire state of mind?
