Dia de los muertos

After stuffing my face with some of my favorite foods last night, watched Beyonce's "I am yours" tour, and took a four and a half hour nap, I was off to the mall where there was nothing short of mayhem. I'm not usually accustomed to going shopping at the mall on black Friday nor am I accustomed to shopping at 5 am. Well, I wouldn't really call it shopping because I didn't get much today. The mall and parking lots were packed from the minute my sisters and I rolled up. For some reason, while all of the other stores were opened Zara and Hollister decided to open their doors an hour and two hours later. I was expecting there to be some major sales if they decided to do that, but no..not at Zara. Gap had 50% off the entire store until 10 am, but I had no patience to wait on the line. H&M had a few deals, which is why I copped a dress for five dollars, but nothing too major. Arden B. had buy one get one free on the entire store until 10 am, but I didn't have a chance to get in there. At seven o clock, I clocked in at Aerie, and worked the fitting room for nine tiresome hours. All in all, I've realized that black Friday is a huge scam. I will never shop on black Friday again. It isn't worth the hour long waiting to pay for something and crazy amount of people in the stores.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Enjoy your day, enjoy your food, and enjoy your family/friends.
To any of you black friday shoppers, be safe and shop smart. Wake up bright and early to avoid any traffic and crowds!

Holler!

Shout outs to:

Females who are naturally beautiful and need not wear extensions and/or pounds of make up.

Females who know their worth and will not let any body demean them.

Males who have successfully completed college

Attorneys at law/ People in the medical profession
(I say this because it takes a hard working  and determined individual to earn a Juris Doctorate or Medical Degree. This however is not taking away from others who do not work in one of the two aforementioned fields.)

Males who do not look at women's derriere

Males who are faithful to their significant others

People (like myself) who stand their ground and are not easily influenced by others

People (like myself) who have not experimented with drugs

The home owners

Males who are attracted to females not only for their exterior beauty but also their interior beauty

Good_Tunes

This right here is swag at its finest. I commend young Diggy Simmons, he is doing his thing with this rap thing. I hope he stays in school though, he is way to young not to, but if Justine is anything like she was on Run's House, I'm sure she will not have it any other way. At just fifteen years old Diggy is making music worthy of being played on  the radio. I'd love to hear a collaboration with him Justin Beiber, Willow Smith, and  Jaden Smith. It should be called when the youth take over!! loll

When an opportunity comes knocking at your door I urge you to answer it. Great opportunities are rare , so if/when they do come around..grab them and run. Don't make the mistake of relying on the prospect that they may come around again. Time stops for no one, one mans trash is another man's treasure. Take for example Lauren Conrad's missed opportunity to go to Paris on season one's finale of The Hills. Sometimes one may be reluctant to take on the challenge of something new and potentially challenging. But understand that some of the best things in life are worth the stress and hard work. I would like to specifically speak to the gentle men, don't pass up the opportunity to have a female who is worth it all. Worth giving up the hoes for, worth introducing to the family, and worth passing up playing 2k11 with the boys. Nowadays, good girls are hard to find so if you do stumble across one who is willing to give you the time of day, don't take her for granted. You will regret lieing and/or cheating once you realize that you can never have her back again. And ladies don't be like LC, she was lucky enough to go to Paris a year later, but luck doesn't come to everyone. I personally believe that establishing your self in a career is greater than holding on to a relationship. At the end of the day, guys want goal oriented females who can do for themselves. A real man will respect your decision to be focused on work/school. Don't be that girl whose life revolves around her boy friend. Don't be Melanie from The Game, who missed out on the opportunity to attend a prestigious University, for her man. I understand that males appreciate females who can sacrifice for them, but at the end of the day, your sacrifices may be over looked.

Popppin

I don't know who this lady along side Mr. Foxx is but she sure as hell is killin em in this leopard print Herve Leger esque dress. Her facial expression looks extremely fierce, I wonder if shes a model? I really love this look because it's is funky, classic, and chic all in one. I'm not mad at him for bringing her to the Justice and Human Rights annual Ripple of Hope Gala. Get it Jamie and you can get it too whatever you're name is lol.

My girl Rih gave a free performance yesterday in Times Square yet nobody notified me. She took the stage with a new long hair do with an off center part, but unfortunately it still consists of the color red. I'm not a fan of Rhianna with long hair. She is regressing back to the "Pon De Replay" days, and she needs to get back to the short and brown/black color ASAP!

I know I'm always late with the music videos, but here is Rhianna's "Whats my name" featuring her alleged ex boo thang Drake. I wonder what part of NYC this video was shot in, I also wonder when Ursula Stephens and Rhianna are going to realize this red hair is not doing Rhianna any justice.

Dare to be different

Ms. Ambrose loves a turban and big glasses
For the longest time, turbans were mostly worn by Sikh and Hindu men. Nowadays, turbans are common among women who dare to be bold and different. Some of the most popular ladies in Hollywood have been seen rocking this headdress. In my opinion, turbans are very chic, but not for everybody . One must possess a certain elegance, demeanor, and attitude to properly pull off this look. One must not be afraid to be made fun of while rocking a turban, and one must be willing to stand out. Do you dare to be different?

Chrisette Michele stepped out of the box with this turban at the Soul Train Awards
Solange Knowles rocking a tribal turban while on the ones and twos
Sarah Jessica Parker rocks a turban in the movie Sex & The City

Trapper hats are chic. Leather gloves keep my hands warm.
Always wear a seat belt lol!

It's like that sometimes, damn ridiculous!

The other day when I was doing my routine serf on Theybf.com I learned that Swizz Beatz, yea the rapper/producer/dj is now a professor at New York University. Despite the fact that Natasha from Theybf is almost never wrong, the idea of Swizz being a professor boggled my mind. I had to ask someone who would be more credible, therefore I reached out to my friend who attends NYU, shout out to Capa for confirming Natasha's claim. Hmm I wonder if he will have his students refer to him by his government i.e Professor Deans or by his industry name i.e Swizzy. After finding out that he is in fact going to be a professor of music at the Tisch School of the Arts, I had to investigate him. I wasn't sure whether or not Swizz had the credentials (college degree) to teach at such a highly acclaimed institution. Well after reading his biography, I learned that Swizz does NOT have a college degree. I guess it's his experience and expertise at producing records that landed him this position. Well good for him, he can now add the title of professor to his repertoire. I'm still not over the fact that he and Alicia are married with a child. Oh God must be coming very soon.

90210 cutie

Actor Tristan Wilds stepped outside of his acting zone for a minute to sing! His voice is a wee bit reminiscent of Chris Browns voice. If he ever wanted to fully pursue singing I'm sure he'd have supporters, include yours truly. I think hes a cutie and his song " Fall for her" is pretty catchy, check it out!

Oh Na Na

Rihanna was killin em in this royal blue back less dress. I don't like the hair style, Its very hott mess bee hive esque. Rih it's time to go back to brown or black hair because you aren't reaching your fullest potential with rouge. And she could have opted for a better pair of shoes with this ensemble.  "Still killen them hoes" though lol.

While Drake's alleged former boo thang was showing off in a Royal blue number, he was killen em with this Indigo blazor at Lil Wayne's welcome home party in Miami. I don't usually see Drake looking this fresh so I have to give him an allthatg0od_stuff clap clap bravo..funny thing is that I took that line from him and ran with it loll.

Black Girls Rock!

Last nigh, BET  aired "Black Girls Rock!", which was an award show honoring the brilliance and achievements of African American women. Not only did this show illustrate the great works of women in Hollywood, but it also showcased the great efforts of regular women . I appreciated this, because not many award shows incorporate people who are easy to relate to.
When I tuned in, Keke Palmer was receiving her award. Looking stunning as usual, Keke accepted her award with grace, and gave a genuine speech. Despite the fact that Keke's speech was impromptu, she articulated her thoughts carefully and spoke very well. She made it clear that girls do not have to shake thier butts in order to make it in this world, and I couldn't agree more. At the age of 17 (just like yours truly), Keke seems to be wise beyond her years. I admire young women like her who are strong minded, and aren't easily influenced by negativity. An official andallthatg0od_stuff clap clap bravo for Ms. Palmer. She is the epitome of a "BHAD" chick. Fellas instead of dreaming about Nicki Minaj or Amber Rose, you should be dreaming about Keke.

I also noticed Marsha Ambrosius, former member of Floetry. She's now a solo artist doing her thang, and doing it well. Although she doesn't get the recognition like other female vocalists, she is worthy of praise. She has also lost weight since the last time I've seen her. I must say that I loveeeee the big curly hair on her.

Please STOP!

Usage of the N word should be a crime

Nigger:
From the earliest usage it was "the term that carries with it all the obloquy and contempt and rejection which whites have inflicted on blacks" [cited in Gowers, 1965]. But as black inferiority was at one time a near universal assumption in Eng.-speaking lands, the word in some cases could be used without deliberate insult.

I detest/abhor/despise, and frown upon usage of the N word. I don't care if you are saying "nigga" instead of "nigger", either way its unacceptable. The word has great meaning beyond what Webster's or Dictionary.com tells us. This term is condescending and insulting. Those of you who are black and use this word freely but are offended when white people call you a "nigga" need a reality check. I don't see why African American people feel they are allowed to use this word while other races aren't. The word still holds the same meaning regardless of whose mouth it's coming out of. Whether your black, Latino, middle eastern, Asian, or white you should not be using this word! My black people need to set an example and not use this word like it's nothing. There are so many other words one can use to address his/her friends besides "my nigga".  Let me just make it clear here on andallthatg0od_stuff  I AM NOT ANY BODY'S NIGGA/NIGGER, so take this as a warning!  Refrain from using this word in my presence please!

Shopping you no more

So I dont think I can shop at Forever 21 anymore. I'll probably just get accessories from there but NO CLOTHES! All of my stuff from there has either faded out with a couple of tosses in the washing machine or ripped. Its not like I didnt read the care instructions on the tag, its just that Forever 21 fabrics are horrible. The clothes are cheap, so the quality of the clothing is even cheaper! I really loved this store because the clothes are very cute and all, but I can no longer waste money in there. Everything will just end up as trash! I have a couple of things that havent ripped yet, but its inevitable that it will rip lol. EHHHHH, I'm going to miss that store.I feel like I'm, departing from my child or something lol.

Compelling is an understatement

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.
              -Maya Angelou

Black women have been known to rise, have been known to stand, have been known to fight, and have been known to be strong. Black women are some of the most amazing people that God has created. Now I'm being general, so don't get me wrong, there have been many black women who have put themselves as well as other black women to shame.

Yesterday one of the greatest films that I have ever seen came out in theatres. Tyler Perry's "For Colored girls", originally written by Ntozake Shange was magnificent; a must see! The title is a bit controversial, but other than that, this movie was amazing. Very raw, and very real. This movie is a tear jerker, so if you plan to see it, have your Kleenex ready. Be prepared to be fully captured by the movie as I was. For some strange reason, there were people laughing all throughout the film, when there were barely any comical scenes. I totally ignored them because what was going on in the movie had me in a different place. You won't understand what I'm saying until you see the movie.

I would like to give an official andallthatg0od_stuff clap clap bravo for all of the women in this movie. Loretta Devine, Thandie Newton, Janet Jackson, Anika Noni Rose, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington, Phylicia Rashad, Whoopi Goldberg, and Tessa Thompson are all worthy of an Academy Award. Janet looked ravishing, to say the least. Her bone structure is very well crafted, her body is on point, and she is all around too beautiful! I just had to point that out.
Go see "For Colored Girls" I give it five stars!

I think I might do the unthinkable

Now I haven't bought a CD in a looooooooooong time, but I think I'm going to get Kanye's album when it drops in 17 days [November 22].  Album cover still makes me chuckle. By the way, congrats to Kanye for being the first male to get an ACE award for personal style and influence.

DOPE!

Love this song!
Interesting video.
Robyn is her name. Shes a European singer. Get up on it!

Males aren't facing extinction

Some parents raise their children with great care and instill commendable morals and values in them. Some children grow up to be the epitome of what their parents desired for them to be. Others put their parents to shame. There are barely any parents who want the worst for their children.  My mother raised my sisters and I to be women with great moral value and high standards. I can't speak for other females that I've come into contact with, but when I witness or hear about some of their actions,I always ask myself what would their mother think? Or did she have parents who were there to properly educate her? Is she simply going against everything that she was taught? Is she to blame for the way she has turned out? Or are her experiences and/or parental figures to blame for her character?

Ladies, Ladies, Ladies you have to play the game right. You have to come correct or risk being played.
Now I'm only human so I'm not acting like I haven't been in my share of guy issues. But after reading Steve Harvey's "Act Like a Lady Think Like a Man", my eyes have been opened up much wider than they were before I read the book. There were things that he explained that I never realized. Two things that that Steve and I both agree on is,  If you want somebody to take you seriously, you must take yourself seriously; you must set standards and adhere to them!

Ladies enough with statuses about how much you love your man and how great he makes you feel. Enough with posting pictures of yourself half nude on social networking sites. Enough with being naive and making spontaneous decisions that you'll quickly regret. Enough with going hard for a boy who doesn't give you the time of day. Enough with opening your legs to guys who aren't worthy. Enough crying and complaining when things don't work out well with your man, especially if you can do much better. Especially when its his loss not yours. ESPECIALLY when you made yourself so easy to be played! Never stress over someone who will never stress over you. You are giving these guys authority over you, by allowing  them to control your emotions. Waiting up at night for a guy to call needs to be a thing of the past! Do not fall for "I love you, theres no other girl like you, You're the only one for me" bs. If your man says this to you, but barely proves it, then you need to understand that it's bs!

The way I see it is, there are millions of male fish in the sea therefore no single male is ever worth losing myself over. I understand that in rare instances there will be guys worthy of preferential treatment but I don't think I can love any guy more than I love myself. Truth is, I love myself a lot! Truth is I can NEVER allow myself to be the girl that looses sleep over a guy. I'm SORRY but its just not worth it. Yea its much easier said than done, but fuck a guy who doesn't realize that I'm a Queen and I should be treated as such. Fuck a guy who finds it necessary to lie and cheat! Most of all fuck a guy who doesn't respect the fact that I'm abstaining from sex until I'm married. I was always taught to value myself and to never take crap from a guy. I will NEVER lower my standards for anybody. My mother says "sometimes guys may not be attractive but it's whatever is inside that counts the most". Which is true, but I cannot allow myself to fall in love with someone who I don't find attractive. I know its superficial and looks fade away, but that's just the way I feel. Now I bet I sound like a bitter high sadity female who will never find a guy, but I rather be alone than to be lied to, cheated on, and played for a fool!

I believe there is someone out there for me. Someone who is up for the challenge! Someone who isn't perfect but who is perfect for me!

President Carters back!

While Democrats have lost ther midterm elections to GOP candidates, self proclaimed "Young Money Democrat" Lil Wayne will be coming out of jail tomorrow! Surprisingly, former President Clinton wishes Weezy well. In a radio interview, Clinton called Mr. Cater smart and said "I hope he will have a good life now". Interesting to say the least, its not every day that political officials take time out of thier day to comment on rappers.

Unisex Essential Accessories

Hats

I love Russian inspired hats. My black one keeps my head warm and had people turning their heads the other day when I wore it to school! I still need to get an all fur one in brown , but everywhere I go they are about 40 dollars and up. I refuse to spend more than 20 dollars on a hat, times are HARD!

I also love beanies. Knit beanies to be exact. The slouchy/baggy look is definitely what I'm going for this season.  And these hats fit perfectly into "the look"!

Scarves
Chunky knit scarves to be exact. They are so chic and are necessary to keep you warm this season and next season. I personally prefer a circle scarf but regular ones are hot too. At the moment my life is incomplete because I have yet to get a one, I'm still rocking my jersey circle scarf. I went to two different H&M's on Monday looking for a particular color (taupe) but they were sold out. All they had was navy blue left, I was pretty bummed. I'm going to take another stab at it and try two more H&M's tomorrow.

Gloves/Mittens

When the weather gets to be in the 30s and 40s its time to put on gloves/mittens. I have leather gloves that my mom bought for me, and they keep my hands very warm.

Get it!

Fellas get yourself a Varsity Jacket. They are all the craze this season, and your favorite celebs love them too. Kanye West, Chris Brown, J. Cole, and Drake have all been spotted wearing these jackets. Pair one of these jackets with a T-shirt, denim pants,a fresh pair of tennis shoes or combat boots, and a beanie and you'll be good to go. You can even layer this jacket with a cardigan or hoodie. Try to stay away from a fitted hat with these jackets please!

01 November 2010

Its the first of the month.

Happy November everyone! The weather is starting to be frightful, so bundle up. I hope you've done better than I and have purchased your winter wool or puff coats. Ive been rocking out in my leather jacket and my sister's light trench jacket, but this weekend I'll be sure to get an actual coat. It's no longer October, so the font will be back to normal as black.Thanksgiving is right around the corner, which means Christmas is near as well. I can't wait until Christmas; I have a alot on my wish list this year.
Nicole Richie is an author!

Get out of town..why am I just finding this out?
Priceless is her novel which takes place in Manhattan, about a young singer. I think I might have to take a trip to the library when I'm not swamped with school work to read this one.
Nicole has come a long way from her simple life days with "bff"  Paris Hilton. I remember watching that show when I was in junior high school.  She has matured into a beautiful and trendy socialite. She's doing well for herself as an author, designer, and mother. She deserves a andallthatgood_stuff clap clap bravo!!I love Nicole's style and if her "House of Harlow" apparel and accessories were more affordable I'd definitely be rocking it!
