Elaborating for Dummies
Early this morning, I posted a slightly "controversial" status on my facebook. I use the word controversial loosely, for lack of a better word. To those of you who know me well, you are aware that I speak my mind. But sometimes the things that I say portray a person who does not have a filter. However, be aware that I do have a filter that sometimes goes runs on "relaxed mode". I simply have a low tolerance for bullsh*t and ignorance. Therefore, the things that I say are a result of witnessing and experiencing various "controversial" and thought inducing scenarios. Also if you know me well or are friends with me on facebook, you are aware that I don't often post statuses just to answer the all too famous facebook question :"What's on your mind?". My statuses usually demonstrate my intelligence and great word play lol. Anyway let me stop digressing from the purpose of this post, which is to explain and maybe defend the "controversial" status. The status reads:
Besides the fact that I misspelled *manual, this was one of the moments that demonstrated that my speech may portray someone who does not have a filter. But we already cleared up that notion so don't judge me lol. I was clearly having a "sadity/conceited" moment. But we also know that I'm not completely sadity or conceited, I'm bold and confident. I'm digressing again, because sometimes I have to explain myself; people often misunderstand me.
The status was a small expression of how I really feel inside. However, after reading it more than once, I realized that I kind of made myself sound like a high maintenance b*tch. And although I can be high maintenance and a bitch, that's not completely who I am. I am so much more!!
Yes I am a plethora of multiple chracteristics.
I am not a fan of objectifying others or myself, but the status has an objectifying tone. So as you may have already inferred, I did not contact Wiley Publishing. I doubt the company would be interested in selling "Pursuing Murielle for Dummies" lol. I mean it had the potential to be a great read but I'll pass. I'm more of a future nobel laurete instead of a basic broad who gives out instructions for how to pursue her.
If a guy has to read a manual to pursue me, that sort of suggests that I can be an object of any guy's desire. Which denotes that any guy can just pick up a copy of "Pursuing Murielle for Dummies" and be able to get with me. And that is definitely NOT the case. I am one complex and multifaceted individual so I would not even be able to write one book to explain a good way to pursue me. There is no single way to pursue me because various methods have worked in the past.
What I tried to establish by writing the status was that guys must put great effort into pursuing me if they want a chance. I mean any beautiful and respectable girl deserves time and effort, but not many guys understand that. I can't speak about all men, but I can speak about the individuals who have tried to pursue my friends and I. Most of them believed that they would be able to simple "bag" and go on thier merry way. Much to thier surprise it takes more than "Hello how are you doing Beautiful? Can I take you out some time?", to be able to take us out. If I'm being polite and patient, the least one can do is come up with a better salutation lol. I mean it is 2011! President Barack Obama is in office! We got to do better!
Not many guys understand when I spit the former line to them though lol. But it simply means: If an African American man was able to overcome adversity to lead our nation, than these young men can improve their approach when trying to pursue a female.
My complexity and unpredictablity are the reasons why guys pursue me. If there is any positive to my many difficult characteristics, it is that im viewed as a challange. Many guys have complimented me on my no bullsh*t and comlicated approach. It keeps them on thier feet with no dull moments lol. I wouldn't change me for the world!
I am very fun loving, exciting and spontaneous but I am very up tight when it comes to guys. I came to that conclusion last weekend after having a conversation with two friends. I've realized that just because guys are interested in my complexity doesn't mean that I have to be complex and difficult all the time. If guys are willing to pursue me even after they find out that I'm complex, I should show them the many faces of me. Thus, I will work on that this summer. I need to relax and really "fly and let fly". It will be good for me to just relax and go with the flow!
I also think that it would be interesting for me to pursue a guy for a change. Instead of the other way around. Allowing a guy to pursue me may denote that he has the upper hand, or maybe I'm just thinking too much. But it kind of puts him at an advantage. The way that society portrays a women who puts great effort into getting a man, is negative. And for a long time I thought the same way. Like "Why is she going hard to get this guy? Let him do the work while you relax." Sometimes it's ok for a women to go after what she wants. It's not desperate, its assertive and persistent. And we all know I'm assertive and persistent when it comes to school and getting what I want. Maybe I should utilize my persistance to pursue a guy? It's only an idea, I'm not sure that I'm going to implement this plan BUT if I do, I will do my best to ensure that it will be a prosperous pursuit.
"I should contact Wiley Publishing or the "For Dummies" team. It just dawned on me that some guys may need a manuel before they try to pursue me."

Spoken.
Best I've heard was that I don't look like the type to study because I don't carry a bag on my back. Because I'm very into my style and it's far from wack. But I carry a long champ, and throw away the slack.
No on second thought, the best I've heard is that there's no way I'm a virgin because of my ample round glutinous maximus. That because God has blessed me with a nice body, there's no way that I'm celibate.
Wait..... let me come again. The best I've heard is that I'm pretty for a dark skin girl, and the prettiest Haitian that one ever saw. But why can't I be pretty not like in respect to my complexion but like in the beauty bestowed upon me by my mother and my father. And in reference to my ethnicity, I accept it as ignorance. My beauty and intelligence won't allow me to curse in the name of sheer ugliness.
But hold on, you haven't heard the best, because it came when I was told that I could never be an attorney. Because my temperament, approach and beliefs won't let me. Excuse me? Come again... I believe that's simply foolish for you to try to guess my fait, despite the fact that God already has it in order. Oh you just wait!
Let me give you more, because the best is better than what I said before. Because the best was when Yvrose let me know the truth. That God has a plan for me and my successes are proof. She also said there'd be motivators disguised as haters and contemplaters. That my persistence and nature are the best of me, but if I don't separate friend from adversary, than that will be the death of me.
And the best I've heard from grandma was to always follow my mother, honor my father and listen to grandfather. Because grandpa taught me too, until about three years ago their time here on earth was through. And through all the tears and heartache, I've realized that my grandparents are my guardian angels. That my mother is my inspiration and my father is a rock who often demonstrates his appreciation. And my sisters, two friends I'll never lose. Because before me there was them. It was Ines, Vicky and then M.
And now we're unbreakable, no matter what our haters say. Because the best I've heard all my life was that the best will never stay. That the best will come and go away. But the best of the best is yet to come, because in life, we will always win and lose some.

BALLING!
Last night the season 3 premiere of VH1's Basketball Wives aired!! And because I had already enjoyed the sun at the beach with my sister, I decided that I was going to stay in. I was too tired to frolic and "bbq hop" any way. Thus, I was able to watch the premier in it's entirety. Where should I begin? The drama? The wardrobe? or The new wife? Yea you already know I'm going to start with the drama lol.
1. Tammy & Evelyn
2. "Non mother f***** factor"
3. Smart and greedy Evelyn
4. "Non mother f***** factor T-shirts made by Evelyn"
C. Intelligent and hood Tammy wants a law suit
Lol notice how I applied my acquired philosophy knowledge and put the drama into premise/conclusion form.
I understand where both ladies featured in the first premise are coming from. Tammy feels as though Evelyn is taking the "Evelyn sleeping with Kenny" drama too lightly. And I agree! Tammy said it best, "Evelyn lacks moral foundation" and she also lacks integrity, respect for herself, respect for Tammy and design skills; those T-shirts were NOT cute lol. I'm not trying to defame Evelyn's name here because she already did that on many occasions. I do believe that Tammy has reason to be annoyed and angered by Evelyn's actions but that doesn't mean that Tammy is totally innocent herself.
The way Tammy goes about things is totally wrong. She needs to learn how to move in silence and bring the ghetto down a couple of notches. Having lunch with Suzy, telling Suzy she is going to "sue the bitch (Evelyn) and showing up at Dulce was not an appropriate way to go about her business. I'm not sure that Tammy has a profitable case on her hands, but I guess it's worth a shot. I mean she does need any money she can get lol. But I believe that Tammy failed to realize that attorney fees and the entire litigation process are very stressful and expensive. We'll see though, I doubt she will go through with the law suit once she comes to her senses.
Continuing with the drama, let's discuss the new wife. Shall we?
Mrs.Meeka Claxton, wife of retired NBA baller Speedy Claxton. She's a cute girl and she has a career. The reason she is on the show is because she is a realtor belonging to a "Allure Realty Group". I respect her grind. She clearly understands the importance of not relying on her husband's retirement fund. However, based on last night's episode I don't believe she understands the importance of remaining neutral on the drama spectrum. She also seems to have verbal diarrhea because she could not keep her mouth shut. She met with Shaunie and had a modest talk about her reason for being in town. Then she met with Jen and thought it would be ok to talk about Eric. SMH. After that she met with Royce and didn't know what an appropriate conversation would be because she talked about Royce's dance career and the stereotypes that come along with being an NBA dancer. SMH. Then she went on to have dinner with Evelyn, Jen, and Shaunie. That's when her verbal diarrhea was really a factor which had the ladies confused and annoyed. Meeka seems to want to fit in with Evelyn and Jen but we'll see how far she will go to fit in. She's already started off on the wrong foot!
Last but not least, let's talk the first episode's fashion!
You guys know I love to discuss style, fashion and beauty! And a couple of the Basketball wives are known for their great and expensive style while a couple of them are known for their lack of outfit coordination and cheap clothing. I must say that Jen was looking better than ever and was killing the game last night. I guess it's because I've always been a fan of her style, but she was looking very glamorous. Jen's style isn't too over the top and a lot of her outfits can be emulated and executed without a hefty pocket. I think that her and Evelyn are the reason why I've taken an interest into huge "hanging" earrings lol. Surprisingly, their earlobes are not sliced even though they wear huge earrings all the time! As for Evelyn, she was looking cute but she needs to take it down a couple of notches with the make up! She packs it on way too much for no reason, and she is starting to look older! I'm pretty sure Shaunie is older than her but it totally looks the other way around lol. Speaking of Shaunie, her attire was looking very age appropriate and well put together on last night's episode. As for Tammy, she has made great progress but still has a ways to go. I understand that she has kids to take care of and she isn't accustomed to being glamorous. But she is trying and I give her a B for effort. Her hair still needs work, and I believe that she may want to consult with a stylist. Last and very least is Royce. This girl really needs a stylist more than Tammy does! Her wardrobe reflects that of a young, immature, and blind girl from the block. lol I know I may be going a little hard but Royce needs HELP! My sisters and I do not have half the money that Royce does but we still manage to dress better than her all the time. SMH.
I can't wait for next week's episode, it should be juicy!!
