So I took a risk by cutting my hair. Its not too dramatic but its pretty obvious that i cut it. I used to pin my hair this way to give off an edgy look but when I was tired of it, I could simply un pin it, and throw it in a Pony. But now, I can no longer put it in a bun when its not freshly done, and a pony tail is almost impossible . But I do not regret cutting it, its hair and it will grow back. I tried out a new salon for this cut, and I loved it. Its called "Queen of the Winks" and is located on Hillside and Archer avenue in Queens. Upon walking into the salon, i was greeted by "Queen" who is the owner of the salon. She made sure to inform me that the Salon, and everybody who walks into the salon, is apart of a family. At first I was taken aback by her kindness and bold personality, but as time progressed I began to feel right at home. I used to be apart of a different "family". Family is quoted because Lian's Dominican salon, where I usually go is nothing like a salon family. The hairdressers speak minimal English and I don't think that any of these ladies went to cosmetology school. I don't mean to bash them but they only care about making money, and not about each customer's hair. Which is why my hair is no longer thick and full. After many rough blow drying jobs the strength of my hair has deteriorated. Whatever though it's all in the past, and the future of my hair is in the hands of African American stylists at "Queen of the Winks" salon.
