Let me begin by saying that I hold myself to a certain standard, and I believe that every individual should. One should have standards, live by those standards, and respect others who have standards. Unfortunately having standards is not very popular, especially among young and ignorant individuals. Well today as I was in music class, an acquaintance of mine had walked into class late and told me that as she was shopping she exchanged numbers with a a guy. For some strange reason as they were texting he asked her to send him a picture of her. She wanted to show me a few of her pictures to see what I thought would be the best one to send. Too bad I stopped her right then and there. I did not choose a picture because I didn't think is was necessary or appropriate for her to send a picture to a guy who she just met. Oh and I forgot, he was sending a picture of himself also. This wouldn't be a case of sexting or the like, but I still thought it would be inappropriate to send a picture even if it was harmless. I just find it suspicious and weird that he would want a picture of her. Lets just say that she knew him for a longer period of time, I would still find it creepy and unwise for her to send pictures to him. Maybe I'm just too up tight but why is it necessary for another person to have a picture of you on his/her phone unless you took it on that person's phone. I don't know maybe I'm just too old school. Which brings me to my next point. I also do not find it appropriate for a guy to text a girl at 1 in the morning. It's one thing if they had already been conversing, or they just left each other, but starting a conversation at that time of the hour is simply inappropriate. I'll make an exception if this guy is your boyfriend but if the two of you are just talking and he texts you saying something along the lines of "I miss you", then that text message should not be answered. I feel like boys are playing a game, and do not respect girls who they text that late. Why couldn't you text her at a reasonable hour so that you two could meet up since you miss her? Boys who do this are pure douche bags. loll ok maybe I'm being harsh but come on, get some respect. Now if the girl responds, I do not blame him. If she doesn't feel that it's inappropriate than she will allow him to do this. A friend of mine argued that it all depends on the neighborhood that you were raised in. I don't see how this correlates to the subject, but ok lol. I just feel that it has to do with your education, parental figures and perhaps your surroundings. If you are taught to have certain morals and values than it will be easier for you to uphold certain standards. In rare cases one may still be classy even if they were not taught by their parents. It all depends on the individual. Well that's just my prerogative. I am an individual with many opinions and if I wasn't than this blog would not exist lol.
